MWYF has been providing after school and summer youth development programs for more than two decades. Located in zip code 32209, MWYF is in the heart of one of the most violent, impoverished areas of the city.
Yet, the nearly 200 children who attend MWYF programs each day are thriving. In a zip code with the lowest high school graduation rate, highest teen pregnancy rate and highest juvenile crime rate, MWYF boasts a 100% on time graduation rate, 0 teen parents and only five students involved in the juvenile justice system in our 23 year history. More than $1.1 million in college scholarships have been awarded to our students to continue their education beyond high school.
This year, your support is more than critical than ever. We have begun construction on a new 13,000 SF state of the art Teen Center to add to our Durkeeville Campus, which also includes a 9200 SF youth center, 8 tennis courts, and 6 36' courts. Your support allows us to continue to serve the hundreds of youth who come through our doors each year while planning to nearly double that number once we open the Teen Center.
